Bhopal, April 16: Emphasizing the need for holistic development of youth, Madhya Pradesh’s Sports and Youth Welfare Minister, Vishwas Kailash Sarang, announced the launch of the ‘Aaroh-2026’ summer camp starting May 1 across the state.
During a meeting with state sports officials at the Tatya Tope Sports Stadium in Bhopal, the minister highlighted that the camp aims to foster strong and versatile personalities. This year’s camp will include not only sports training but also personality development and creative activities, making it more comprehensive than previous editions.
Sarang instructed officials to collaborate with youth coordinators to ensure the camp is effectively organized at the grassroots level, including blocks and rural areas, to maximize participation. He emphasized that this initiative should extend beyond sports, promoting values such as discipline, teamwork, and social harmony. Sarang called for ‘Aaroh-2026’ to become a people’s movement, akin to national campaigns like the ‘Fit India Movement’ and ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, ensuring it reaches every segment of society.
Highlighting the department’s broader vision, Sarang stated that efforts are underway to strengthen sports infrastructure, identify emerging talents, and deploy trained coaches to guide young athletes. He underscored the crucial role of coaches in honing the capabilities of youth and helping them achieve excellence in sports. In addition to physical training, the camp will also feature awareness programs and counseling sessions aimed at supporting participants’ mental and intellectual development.
Sarang announced that registration for the camp will begin on April 18 and can be completed through the official website of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department or via a designated QR code. He shared on his social media account, “Today, a meeting was held at the Major Dhyan Chand Hall in TT Nagar Stadium, Bhopal, with senior officials of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department and sports officials from all districts, where we discussed the extensive preparations for the summer camp 2026 and provided necessary directives.”
He further added, “This year, the summer camp has been revamped. Special attention will be given to the physical and mental development of children and youth alongside sports activities, to fully enhance their personalities. Our goal is not only to nurture talent but also to prepare strong, disciplined, and confident individuals who can be a source of pride for their families and play an active role in the development of the nation and society.”
