Large Crowds Gather at Baba Budha Amarnath Temple Amid Shrawan Yatra, Devotees Report No Fear

Jammu, August 18: A significant influx of devotees was witnessed at the ancient Baba Budha Amarnath Temple in Rajpura village, Mandi Tehsil of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, during the Shrawan month. Pilgrims from far and wide expressed their joy to the media about visiting the temple, noting that reaching the site was easy and there was no atmosphere of fear.

One devotee remarked, “The first group of this historic pilgrimage in 2016 has arrived here today. Baba Budha Amarnath Temple is a manifestation of a self-manifested Shiva Lingam. Baba Amarnath has been residing here since the creation of the universe. Around 2005, when terrorism was rampant, pilgrims from across India, along with the Vishuddha Parishad and Bajrang Dal, came here to counter it. This tradition that began in 2005 will continue for years to come. The uniqueness of this pilgrimage is that the local administration, the Lieutenant Governor, and Bajrang Dal are working together to ensure its success.”

He further stated, “It feels like the resolution we made in 2005 is moving towards fruition. There is increased harmony among people. Pilgrims are coming fearlessly, and the number of visitors has doubled compared to last year. We hope that this influx continues throughout the year, allowing people to connect with their traditions. I extend my best wishes to all pilgrims, local residents, and those involved in organizing this event through the media.”

Rameshwar Gurjar, a coordinator from Jaipur, shared, “The atmosphere that was created in India since 2005 led some to believe that terrorists had taken control, making it unsafe for people to undertake the Amarnath Yatra. However, in 2005, the Bajrang Dal conveyed to every Hindu that we must visit our deity, Baba Amarnath, and perform the water offering, striking back at those terrorists and insurgents.”

He added, “Our Prime Minister has encouraged every citizen to come here, and our soldiers have been ordered to take action against any terrorist who dares to look at this place. Our forces have acted decisively, and since then, every citizen of India is happy and actively participating in this pilgrimage. In the future, millions will come here. We thank the media for portraying the atmosphere here accurately. There is absolutely no fear here. We are performing the water offering to Baba.”
