Varanasi, August 18: The Congress party is ramping up its preparations for the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Ajay Rai, the state president, stated that the final decision on how many seats Congress will contest will be made by the national leadership. Currently, an organizational review is underway across all 75 districts in the state.
In a conversation in Varanasi, Ajay Rai mentioned that party observers and workers are visiting all 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. They are assessing the organizational status, local issues, and electoral preparations. He emphasized that after a comprehensive review, the national leadership will determine the strategy and seat allocations.
Ajay Rai also leveled serious allegations against the BJP government regarding the Ram Mandir donation issue. He asserted that Congress has consistently raised this matter. Initially, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed, followed by another SIT established under the Supreme Court‘s directives.
He accused the BJP government of pressuring to protect individuals allegedly linked to the RSS. Rai claimed that several individuals, including Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, Govind Dev Giri, and Gopal Rao, have been appointed to significant positions and are being given a clean chit.
He alleged that there has been embezzlement in donations and stated that the public will respond in 2027. Ajay Rai declared that the electorate will cleanse the political landscape in the upcoming elections, including those in several states next year.
In response to questions regarding Sonia Gandhi’s alleged objection to singing ‘Vande Mataram’ at the AICC headquarters, Ajay Rai targeted RSS members. He remarked that RSS members should indeed sing ‘Vande Mataram’ during their route marches. He insisted that every Indian should carry the national flag during these marches.
