Beijing, June 5: The General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President Thongloun Sisoulith visited Yu Village in Anji County, Zhejiang Province. His visit focused on gathering insights into successful green development practices.
Yu Village is known for its “clean water and lush mountains,” which are considered invaluable resources for scientific research. Guided by this ideology, the village is on a path of continuous development, fostering a beautiful ecology, thriving industries, and a happy life for its residents.
This month, China will celebrate the traditional Dragon Boat Festival. At the invitation of local villagers, Thongloun’s wife prepared a traditional Chinese rice pudding called zongzi.
During the visit, Thongloun also toured the “Bamboo as Plastic” exhibition center. Anji County is recognized as a bamboo township. The use of bamboo has not only enhanced the county’s green development but has also revitalized local rural industries.
