Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Targets Congress, Claims Party Struggles for Survival

Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak criticizes Congress, stating it fights for survival amid allegations of appeasement and lack of support in Uttar Pradesh.

Lucknow, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh‘s Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has launched a sharp critique of the Congress party, asserting that it is fighting for its existence in most parts of the country, barring instances of what he calls “Muslim appeasement.”

His comments came in response to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s challenge to Rahul Gandhi regarding his ability to win the Rae Bareli seat without the support of the Samajwadi Party. Pathak stated, “The Congress party realizes it has no base in Uttar Pradesh. This is not just true for our state but for the majority of the country, where it is struggling to maintain its relevance.”

During a press conference on Friday, Singh questioned Gandhi’s electoral strength, asking if he could secure victory in Rae Bareli without the backing of the Samajwadi Party.

In his remarks on Saturday, Pathak further emphasized, “The way Congress aligns itself with anti-national elements during protests reveals their insatiable hunger for power. The people of the country desire peace and stability. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is progressing, which is causing discomfort for the Congress party. Historically, Congress has pushed the nation into turmoil with its economic policies.”

Pathak also referenced the controversial imposition of the Emergency in 1975, stating, “The unconstitutional actions of Congress will never allow it to thrive. The memories of the Emergency still haunt the public.”

He praised Prime Minister Modi for steering India’s economic policies independently, highlighting that despite global challenges, India has managed to strengthen its economy. “On behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh, I express my heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Modi,” he added.

Additionally, Pathak took aim at Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, suggesting that he should focus on his own party’s internal issues, likening it to a family-run business with little regard for democratic principles or governance.
