Indian Army Provides 10,000-Liter Water Storage Facility in Manipur Village

The Indian Army has enhanced water access in Leimakhong, Manipur, benefiting 35 families with a new 10,000-liter storage facility.

Leimakhong, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian Army’s ‘Red Shield Division’ has implemented a significant initiative under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ by establishing a 10,000-liter water storage facility in the village of Leimakhong, Manipur. This project, completed on October 16, aims to assist approximately 35 families by alleviating the persistent issue of water scarcity in the area.

Previously, residents relied heavily on the continuous flow of water, which diminished significantly during dry seasons. This often forced them to travel long distances to fetch water. Recognizing the need for a practical and sustainable solution, the Army took steps to enhance the village’s existing water infrastructure through this operation. The new storage facility will enable villagers to collect and store water for use during dryer months when the water flow is reduced.

This initiative promises to improve water availability and reliability, easing the hardships faced by residents and enhancing their access to this essential resource. It reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to community welfare and the promotion of trust and goodwill among local populations.
