Pathanamthitta, February 18: In a significant development, police have detained Suhail Ansari, a state-level leader of the Youth Congress, in connection with the suicide of a 35-year-old woman in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. This incident has sparked considerable public interest, particularly because the woman’s suicide note implicates Ansari as a reason for her death.

According to police reports, the woman was found hanging at her husband’s residence in the Kadambanad area on February 14. During the investigation at the scene, her family discovered a suicide note that explicitly named Suhail Ansari as responsible for her death. The note alleged that Ansari had harassed and mentally tortured her, leading her to feel so overwhelmed that she felt compelled to take her own life.

Based on this note, the police at the Enath station took immediate action and detained Suhail Ansari, who is a resident of Poruvazhi in Kollam district and serves as the state secretary of the Youth Congress. He has been called in for questioning and is currently in custody.

Authorities have stated that while no formal arrest has been made yet, further action will be taken once his involvement in the case is confirmed. Meanwhile, the police have emphasized that a thorough investigation is ongoing. They are examining the authenticity of the suicide note, exploring other potential causes of the woman’s death, and looking into her relationship with Ansari. The investigation is awaiting the post-mortem report and additional evidence to clarify the situation. This case may involve serious charges related to incitement to suicide.
