Karnataka Minister Accuses JD(S) of Orchestrating Sting Operation Against Congress Leader
Karnatakas N. Cheluvarayaswamy claims JD(S) is behind a sting operation targeting Siddaramaiah, intensifying political tensions.

Mandya, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : Karnataka’s Water Resources Minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy has leveled serious accusations against the Janata Dal (Secular) regarding a sting operation aimed at former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Speaking in Mandya on Thursday, he criticized central minister H.D. Kumaraswamy for his comments on the state’s political landscape, suggesting that the JD(S) is behind the operation.
“Kumaraswamy has no authority to reject D.K. Shivakumar as Chief Minister,” Cheluvarayaswamy stated. His remarks came in response to questions about Kumaraswamy’s reluctance to acknowledge Shivakumar in the role.
He further remarked, “As a central minister, Kumaraswamy should focus on his responsibilities instead of making baseless statements. It shows a lack of clarity on his part.”
Cheluvarayaswamy claimed that the JD(S) is the only party capable of conducting such a sting operation. He pointed to a video circulating on social media that allegedly exposes Siddaramaiah. “Why is this old footage being released now?” he questioned, emphasizing that the police have arrested those responsible for spreading the video.
He defended Siddaramaiah, asserting that the Congress leader would never engage in illegal activities that could bring shame upon him. “The entire Congress party is not involved in such actions,” he added.
Challenging Kumaraswamy’s sudden concern for Siddaramaiah, Cheluvarayaswamy questioned the sincerity of his feelings, suggesting that the JD(S) leader only pretends to resolve issues he himself creates.
The minister also referenced the pen drive case involving former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, accusing Kumaraswamy of prioritizing his nephew’s interests while ignoring the plight of numerous victims.
Siddaramaiah has obtained a court order to prevent the dissemination of defamatory videos and has filed a police complaint regarding the matter. In light of these developments, the Congress government has detained several JD(S) workers, prompting Kumaraswamy to launch a scathing attack on Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Home Minister Priyank Kharge.
