Mumbai, October 14 (Daily Kiran): Kannada superstar Rishab Shetty’s film Kantara Chapter 1 continues its phenomenal run at the box office, emerging as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Kantara Chapter 1

Following the massive success of Kantara (2022), expectations for this prequel were sky-high — and the film has surpassed them all. Written, directed, and led by Rishab Shetty himself, Kantara Chapter 1 transports viewers to an ancient, mystical world steeped in spirituality and folklore. Every frame bears Shetty’s distinct creative vision, earning praise for its cinematic depth and emotional storytelling.

Record-Breaking Collections

According to Sacnilk, Kantara Chapter 1 opened to a massive ₹61.85 crore on its first day and crossed the ₹100 crore mark within just two days of release. By the end of its first week, the film had amassed ₹337.4 crore across India.

Its momentum continued into the second weekend:

  • Day 9 (Second Friday): ₹22.25 crore

  • Day 10 (Second Saturday): ₹39 crore

  • Day 11 (Second Sunday): ₹39.75 crore

  • Day 12 (Second Monday): ₹8.81 crore

With these figures, the film’s total domestic net collection has now reached an impressive ₹451.90 crore.

Among 2025’s Biggest Blockbusters

With its current earnings, Kantara Chapter 1 has outperformed several major releases like Saiyara, Coolie, and Mahavatar Narasimha. The film now stands as one of 2025’s highest-grossing Indian films, second only to Vicky Kaushal’s Chhava, which has achieved ₹807.91 crore worldwide.

With no major releases scheduled until Diwali, Kantara Chapter 1 is expected to continue dominating theatres in the coming weeks.
