Mumbai, April 23: In today’s rapidly changing world, the expansion of technology has significantly altered the lifestyles of young people. Bollywood actress Kajol recently shared her thoughts on Generation Z, often in the spotlight for their unique relationship trends and new slang on social media.
On Thursday, Kajol posted a clip from a podcast on Instagram, where she explained the fundamental differences between her generation and Gen Z. She highlighted how information overload has become a challenge for today’s youth.
Kajol believes that the younger generation must learn to step away from the “noise” of the internet and develop the ability to make their own decisions. Following social media trends is not enough; true maturity comes from defining one’s own values and boundaries.
She stated, “I think Gen Z is currently experiencing an ‘information overload.’ We grew up in a time when information was quite limited. Therefore, we had to rely on our own judgment to determine our ethics, boundaries, and what is right or wrong.”
The actress pointed out that today’s youth have access to answers about everything. While everyone knows what is right and wrong, they are so overwhelmed that they struggle to determine what is personally right for them.
She added, “No matter how much you worry or gather information, in the end, you have to make your own mind up.”
Discussing her children, daughter Nysa Devgn and son Yug Devgn, she noted that they process information differently. “My children approach information in distinct ways. I feel that boys often have a more straightforward life. They absorb information easily, but girls face more pressure from society, social media, and information overload. They have to evaluate themselves against multiple standards.”
