Jharkhand T20 League Kicks Off on June 10 with MS Dhoni as Chief Guest

Ranchi, June 9: The much-anticipated Jharkhand T20 Cricket League will commence on June 10 at the JSCA International Stadium complex in Ranchi, modeled after the Indian Premier League (IPL). This event is organized by the Jharkhand State Cricket Association, adhering to BCCI guidelines.

A total of 27 matches will be played among six franchise teams. Preparations for the tournament are in the final stages. Former World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will grace the opening ceremony as the chief guest, adding to the event’s excitement.

JSCA Vice President Sanjay Pandey confirmed that Dhoni has agreed to attend the ceremony, which will take place after the league’s inaugural match. Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor will also perform at the event.

The participating teams in the Jharkhand T20 Cricket League include Chotanagpur Royals, Ranchi Titans, Koylanchal Super Kings, Jamshedpur Steelers, Dhanbad Diamonds, and Santhal Strikers.

During the league phase, a total of 24 matches will be held. The semi-finals are scheduled for June 22, followed by the final on June 23. The first match on June 10 will feature Chotanagpur Royals against Ranchi Titans, with a second match between Koylanchal Super Kings and Jamshedpur Steelers on the same day. The semi-finals will see Team 1 face Team 4 and Team 2 take on Team 3. The winners will compete in the final for the championship.

However, cricket fans have received disappointing news ahead of the tournament. Jharkhand’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan will miss the league due to commitments with the Indian team. Additionally, all-rounder Anukul Roy is currently on a tour with the India-A team in Sri Lanka.

According to JSCA, two matches will be played daily during the league phase, with the first match scheduled for the day and the second in the evening. All matches will be broadcast live on Jio Hotstar and DD Sports. Entry to the stadium will be completely free, allowing cricket enthusiasts to enjoy the matches without purchasing tickets.
