Patna, May 2: Political tensions have escalated in Bihar following recent police encounters. Leaders from the Janata Dal (United) [JDU] have defended these actions, asserting that those guilty of crimes will face justice.
JDU’s national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan spoke with a news agency about the police encounters in Bihar. He stated that senior police officials arrived at the scene promptly after receiving information. “No one involved will be spared. Action will be taken against all accused,” he affirmed.
Commenting on the Supreme Court granting anticipatory bail to Congress leader Pawan Khera, Ranjan said, “Bail is not proof of guilt; it is merely a legal process. He has only been granted relief for now. We cannot comment further on this. The Supreme Court listens to all parties before making a decision.”
Ranjan also criticized the Punjab government, highlighting the rising drug trafficking in the state. “This issue needs urgent attention as it harms the youth the most. The Punjab government is neglecting this problem. Action should be taken against all involved,” he urged.
Following the order for re-elections in two assembly seats in West Bengal, Ranjan remarked, “It is normal for re-elections to occur based on voter complaints. The BJP will form the government in Bengal; the TMC is losing. They are aware of this, which is why misleading statements are being made to the public.”
Regarding the police encounters in Bihar, JDU MLA Anant Singh stated, “Anyone who commits wrongdoing will be dealt with. The government is doing an excellent job in this matter. Criminals will face encounters. What is happening is justified, and the state government is performing well, which will reduce crime in Bihar.”
