JD(U) Launches Nitish Archive to Preserve Former CMs Legacy

Patna, May 17: Neeraj Kumar, the spokesperson for the ruling JD(U) party in Bihar, unveiled the ‘Nitish Archive’ on Sunday. The event took place at his official residence, where he emphasized that this initiative is not merely a documentary project but a historic effort to preserve Bihar’s political, social, and ideological journey.

The primary aim of the Nitish Archive is to systematically document and share the public life, thoughts, struggles, decisions, and social transformation journey of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for future generations. Kumar described “Nitishism” as an inclusive ideological vision rooted in social justice, development, social harmony, women’s empowerment, and the identity of Bihar.

He explained that Nitishism embodies the intellectual traditions of Mahatma Gandhi, Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, and Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur, merging them with modern administrative perspectives and development models. Through the Nitish Archive, a digital collection of old videos from Parliament, the Bihar Legislative Assembly, public gatherings, media interactions, news articles, historical documents, photographs, and personal memoirs will be made publicly accessible.

Additionally, personal memories from citizens, activists, journalists, and experts will be preserved in video documentation. Kumar encouraged the public to share their thoughts, videos, and memories related to Nitish Kumar, providing various channels for contributions.

He also announced that a special team would embark on a nine-month journey across different districts of Bihar to gather significant memories, photos, videos, documents, and personal experiences linked to Nitish Kumar.

Neeraj Kumar stated that many important memories associated with great leaders have been lost over time. The Nitish Archive aims to prevent this historical oversight and systematically preserve Bihar’s socio-political history through public participation, making it a valuable resource for youth, journalists, students, and researchers in the years to come.
