Amaravati, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched a scathing attack on current Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu regarding alleged irregularities in the District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher recruitment process. Jagan has raised concerns about the transparency of the recruitment, holding the government morally responsible for what he termed the “DSC scam.”
In two posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday and Saturday, Jagan questioned the decisions made by Naidu’s government regarding the recruitment process. He expressed skepticism about the verification of candidates claiming sports-related certificates.
In his Saturday post, Jagan tagged Naidu directly, challenging the verification process for aspiring teachers. He asked, “Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has the career of those wanting to become teachers become a joke to you?” He referenced three specific cases that raised doubts about the validity of candidates’ claims.
One case involved the alleged omission of candidates’ names from the winners’ list. In another instance, he claimed that a verification with kho-kho officials revealed a sports certificate was fraudulent. After confirming with Acharya Nagarjuna University, Jagan alleged that a sports event mentioned by one candidate never took place.
Jagan presented these cases as evidence of flaws in the scrutiny process and questioned whether the recruitment could still be deemed fair and transparent. He further inquired, “Can this process be called fair and transparent in any way? Isn’t this the reason for the DSC scam? Will you not take moral responsibility for this?”
In his Friday post, Jagan focused on government orders and policy changes related to teacher recruitment. He asked, “If your goal was to conduct a fair and transparent recruitment, why were government orders issued that eliminated the need for a qualifying examination?”
He also raised concerns about policy changes made after the DSC recruitment process was completed. According to Jagan, the government later altered the rules to reinstate the previous examination-based recruitment system. He argued that this sequence of decisions raised questions about the fairness of the recruitment process and whether these changes opened the door for irregularities.
Jagan’s remarks come amid accusations regarding the selection of teachers and the verification of documents submitted by candidates. His recent posts aim to place the Naidu government on the defensive regarding both the recruitment policy and the verification of candidates’ claims.
He reiterated that if the alleged irregularities have impacted the recruitment process, Naidu should take “moral responsibility.”
