Sidhi: Jagadguru Parmhans Acharya, visiting Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, has criticised Swami Avimukteshwaranand Shankaracharya, alleging that those unhappy with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are opponents of Sanatan Dharma.
Accusing Swami Avimukteshwaranand of being politically influenced, Jagadguru Parmhans Acharya stated that he should not be called a Shankaracharya as he is undermining Sanatan traditions. He claimed that Avimukteshwaranand is associating with political groups that disparage Sanatan Dharma, comparing it to diseases like dengue, malaria, and COVID-19, and are intent on its destruction.
He further mentioned that despite facing ill-treatment from leaders like Akhilesh Yadav, Avimukteshwaranand continues to engage with the same political factions. During a past incident, Avimukteshwaranand had quickly demanded the resignation of CM Yogi Adityanath, which the Jagadguru criticised.
Regarding the recent Magh Mela, Jagadguru Parmhans Acharya observed that the crowd exceeded expectations. While some officials erred and faced action, he condemned those who blamed the Chief Minister without demanding a thorough investigation. He emphasised that with the way people were moving, accidents were possible, and accountability must be considered.
He appealed to all religious communities, asserting that those dissatisfied with the leadership of PM Modi, CM Yogi, or the Madhya Pradesh government led by Mohan Yadav are effectively opposing Sanatan Dharma. He suggested that such people may either be non-believers or allied with non-believers, accusing Avimukteshwaranand of connections with such groups, possibly for financial gain.
Concluding his remarks, Jagadguru Parmhans Acharya urged the public to recognise that under the Bharatiya Janata Party’s leadership, the country is progressing, and parties opposing BJP are opposing Sanatan Dharma itself.
