Israeli Defense Forces Launch Attacks in Southern Lebanon, Urge Evacuation of Seven Villages

Jerusalem, April 26: The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) conducted multiple strikes in southern Lebanon on Sunday, prompting warnings for residents of seven villages to evacuate their homes.

The IDF announced on the social media platform ‘X’ that they targeted military sites and launchers being used by the terrorist organization Hezbollah to prepare for attacks.

IDF spokesperson Avichai Adraee urged residents of the villages of Meftahon, Shukin, Yahmar, Arnoun, Joter Sharqiya, Joter Gharbiya, and Kafr Tibnit to leave immediately. He stated that the military was compelled to take decisive action due to Hezbollah’s violations of the ceasefire agreement.

Residents were advised to stay at least 1,000 meters away from the designated areas. The IDF clarified that the buildings targeted were being utilized by Hezbollah to plan assaults against Israel and its military.

On Sunday night, Hezbollah sent two explosive drones toward IDF forces in southern Lebanon; however, both drones fell in open areas, causing no damage. The IDF classified this as a breach of the ceasefire.

The IDF emphasized, “We will continue to take strong action against any threats to the safety of Israeli citizens and our forces. This is all being done in accordance with government directives.”

On Saturday, the IDF reported that their 146th Division discovered a cache of anti-tank missiles belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Additionally, the military targeted buildings associated with Hezbollah’s “Radwan Force” unit and a warehouse containing weapons and military supplies.

The Israeli Air Force also shot down a suspicious aerial target coming from Lebanon, leading to an alert in the northern regions of the country.

The IDF further stated that they had targeted Hezbollah launchers in the areas of Dir al-Zahrani, Kafr Reman, and al-Samiya, located north of the forward defense line in southern Lebanon.
