New Delhi, August 10: An Iranian source has clarified the health status of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, stating that the viral video circulating on social media is outdated. Currently, Khamenei is reported to be in good health, although he has been making fewer public appearances for security reasons.
According to a source from Iran speaking to the Russian news agency TASS, the recently released video of Khamenei was recorded before he became the Supreme Leader. The source emphasized that his health is satisfactory and that his limited public visibility is solely due to security concerns.
The TASS report indicates that the video in question was filmed prior to Khamenei’s ascension to the role of Supreme Leader. The source confirmed that his health condition is quite stable.
They stated, “His health is perfectly fine, and the only reason for his absence from public events is related to security issues.”
Earlier, Iran’s Mehr News Agency released a video showing Khamenei engaging with a group of individuals, who appeared to be attentively listening to him. However, details regarding when and where the video was recorded have not been disclosed.
Reports indicate that Mojtaba Khamenei became the Supreme Leader following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a missile attack orchestrated by the U.S. and Israel.
The Supreme Leader’s health is reported to be excellent. Just this past Sunday, he appointed former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Mohsen Rezaei as his representative to the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).
In a post on the social media platform X, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei stated, “Dr. Mohsen Rezaei, considering your invaluable experience, I appoint you as my representative to the Supreme National Security Council. I hope you achieve remarkable success in this important responsibility and carry out your duties effectively. I wish you success.”
