Irans Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant Attacked for the Third Time Amid Rising Tensions

Tehran, March 28: Iran’s nuclear energy organization has reported that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant was targeted by projectiles late Friday night. This marks the third attack on the facility since the onset of conflict between Iran and the United States-Israel alliance on February 28. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has issued a warning, stating that while no damage has occurred so far, repeated assaults on nuclear sites could lead to dire consequences.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties, property damage, or technical disruptions from the latest attack. Iranian officials have attributed the incident to the United States and Israel.

The IAEA confirmed that Iran had informed them about the attack. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi expressed deep concern and urged for increased military oversight to prevent potential nuclear accidents.

The IAEA is closely monitoring the situation, collaborating with Iranian authorities to verify safety measures and ensure that all nuclear materials remain secure.

These recent attacks highlight the escalating threats to nuclear and industrial facilities in areas affected by military tensions. While both the Khondab Heavy Water Plant and the Khuzestan Steel Factory are reported to be safe, experts warn that repeated targeting of facilities containing radioactive materials could have severe repercussions.

In related news, Israel’s national emergency service, Magen David Adom (MDA), and Israeli police reported that a missile launched from Iran resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man in central Tel Aviv. According to police, this incident was linked to a cluster munition missile that struck multiple locations in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area on Friday night (local time).

Authorities stated that the deceased was a construction worker who was hit by shrapnel from the missile explosion nearby. MDA also reported that two others sustained minor injuries from the missile impact.
