Iran Issues Stark Warning to the U.S. as Tensions Escalate in the Strait of Hormuz

Tehran, May 10: As attacks on Iranian and U.S. oil tankers continue in the Strait of Hormuz, threats and warnings between the two nations are intensifying. In a recent statement, Ibrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s Foreign Policy and National Security Committee, declared that Tehran’s patience has run out.

Rezaei took to social media platform X to assert, “Any attack on our vessels will be met with a heavy and decisive response against U.S. ships and bases. Time is running against American interests. It would be wise for them not to act foolishly and to avoid sinking further into the quagmire they are in. The best course of action is for them to surrender and make concessions. They must adapt to a new regional order.”

According to Tasnim News Agency, Iranian military spokesperson Akrami Nia warned that any country enforcing U.S. sanctions against Iran will face difficulties passing through the Strait of Hormuz. He further stated that the enemy’s objectives in the conflict have not been achieved, and Iran’s political system remains intact.

He added, “In fact, unity and solidarity within the country have strengthened, as evidenced by the presence of people on the streets. The enemy has realized that it cannot truly break this resistance and has ultimately been forced to acknowledge a ceasefire.”

Nia also mentioned that during the ongoing ceasefire, Iran has bolstered its military capabilities, updated its target bank, and refined its defensive and offensive positions.

Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump warned Iran to reach a deal quickly. Before boarding Marine One on the White House’s South Lawn, Trump told the media, “I am expecting a letter tonight. Let’s see what happens.”

When asked if Tehran was deliberately slowing the process, he replied, “We will find out soon.”

The President indicated that if negotiations stall, Washington may adopt a tougher stance. He remarked, “If everything does not go well, we will take another route. If things do not progress, we might revert to Project Freedom, but this will be Project Freedom Plus, meaning it will include additional elements.”
