Iran Denies Recent Attacks on UAE, Calls for Restraint

Tehran, May 6: Iran’s top military command, the “Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters,” has stated that the country’s armed forces have not conducted any missile or drone operations against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in recent days. This information was reported by the semi-official news agency Fars.

Spokesperson Ibrahim Zolfaghari emphasized that if Iran had taken such actions, it would have been declared clearly and decisively. He dismissed UAE reports accusing Iran of drone and missile strikes. Zolfaghari urged UAE officials and politicians not to fall into traps set by the United States and Israel, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

He also stated that the UAE should refrain from conducting a “media assault” against Iran and from making “baseless accusations.” Zolfaghari noted that the UAE has become a major base for American and Israeli forces in the West Asia region, hosting a significant number of their soldiers and military equipment.

He insisted that Iran has maintained restraint despite the UAE’s “media hype” and support for “enemies of the Islamic world,” prioritizing the safety of the UAE’s citizens. However, he warned that if any actions are taken against Iranian islands and shores from UAE territory, Iran would respond with a “strong and regretful answer.”

On Monday, the UAE claimed that Iran had launched new attacks on the country using missiles and drones, targeting locations such as the Fujairah oil industry area, resulting in injuries to three Indian nationals.

Meanwhile, Iranian state television cited a military source stating that there was no premeditated intention to target Iran’s oil facilities. It attributed the situation to “American military adventurism,” which created conditions allowing ships to pass through restricted areas of the Strait of Hormuz.
