
Hyderabad, April 19: In an exciting match of IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 10 runs on Saturday. The match took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, where CSK, chasing a target of 195 runs, managed to score only 184 runs, losing 8 wickets in the process. This victory marks SRH’s third win of the season.
CSK’s innings got off to a rocky start. Sanju Samson struggled, scoring just 7 runs off 3 balls before being dismissed. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad then formed a crucial partnership of 51 runs with Ayush Mhatre for the second wicket. Ruturaj scored 19 runs off 13 balls before getting out. Mhatre contributed significantly, scoring 30 runs off 13 balls, including 5 fours and 1 six. Matthew Short added 34 runs to the total. Sarfaraz Khan failed to capitalize on a good start, falling to Ishan Malinga after scoring 25 runs off 19 balls.
Dewald Brevis was dismissed without scoring by Shivang Kumar, while Shivam Dube was clean bowled by Sakib Hussain for 21 runs. Head scored 23 runs off 20 balls before getting out, while Abhishek dazzled with 59 runs off just 22 balls, hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes. Captain Ishan Kishan was dismissed without scoring, falling to Mukesh Choudhary. Heinrich Klaasen played a brilliant innings, scoring 59 runs off 39 balls, including 6 fours and 2 sixes.
Aniket Verma managed only 2 runs, while Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 12 and Salil Arora added 13 runs. Livingstone contributed just 1 run, and Shivang Kumar scored 12 runs. In CSK’s bowling department, Anshul Kamboj and Jamie Overton each took 3 wickets, while Mukesh Choudhary secured 2 wickets. This defeat marks CSK’s fourth loss in their sixth match of the season.
