IPL 2026: Abhishek and Klaasen Shine as SRH Posts 194 Against CSK

Hyderabad, April 18: In the 27th match of IPL 2026 on Saturday, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. Batting first, SRH scored 194 runs after losing 9 wickets in their 20 overs.

After losing the toss, SRH made a strong start. The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head put together 75 runs for the first wicket in just 5.5 overs. Abhishek showcased an aggressive batting style, completing his half-century in just 15 balls. He scored 59 runs off 22 balls, hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes. However, Head struggled to find his rhythm, managing only 23 runs off 20 balls before being dismissed. Captain Ishan Kishan was sent back to the pavilion without scoring, courtesy of Mukesh Choudhary.

Aniket Verma also failed to make an impact, scoring just 2 runs. Nitish Kumar Reddy was caught by Matthew Short off Jamie Overton’s bowling at a score of 12. On the other hand, Heinrich Klaasen continued his excellent form, reaching his half-century in 32 balls. He anchored the innings, scoring 59 runs off 39 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Sahil Arora contributed 13 runs, while Shivang Kumar added 12 runs. In the bowling department for CSK, Anshul Kamboj delivered a stellar performance, taking 3 wickets for just 22 runs. Jamie Overton also claimed 3 wickets for SRH. Mukesh Choudhary took 2 wickets, and Gurjapneet Singh added another.

For this match, Sunrisers Hyderabad made one change to their playing XI, bringing in fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka in place of Harsh Dubey. CSK also made a change, with Mukesh Choudhary replacing the injured Khaleel Ahmed under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Under Ishan Kishan’s leadership, Sunrisers Hyderabad featured Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, Sahil Arora (wicketkeeper), Aniket Verma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shivang Kumar, Praful Hinge, Saqib Hussain, and Ishan Malinga.

Chennai Super Kings, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, included Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Sarfaraz Khan, Shivam Dube, Dewald Brevis, Jamie Overton, Matthew Short, Anshul Kamboj, Noor Ahmad, Mukesh Choudhary, and Gurjapneet Singh in their lineup.
