Kolkata, April 9: In the 15th match of IPL 2026 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) faced off against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Batting first, KKR scored 181 runs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi delivered impressive performances.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and invited KKR to bat first. The start was rocky for KKR, losing their first wicket at just 15 runs. Finn Allen struggled, scoring only 9 runs off 8 balls before getting out. Following this, captain Rahane and Raghuvanshi took charge, forming a crucial partnership of 84 runs for the second wicket off 52 balls.
Rahane fell short of a half-century, scoring 41 runs at a strike rate of 170 from 24 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes. Raghuvanshi contributed 45 runs from 33 balls at a strike rate of 136 before being caught by Aiden Markram off the bowling of Manimaran Siddharth. Rinku Singh, batting at number five, failed to make an impact, getting bowled for just 4 runs by Avesh Khan.
After losing 3 wickets for just 12 runs, KKR’s innings steadied thanks to Cameron Green and Rovman Powell, who put together an unbeaten partnership of 70 runs for the fifth wicket off 40 balls. Powell remained not out at 39 runs from 24 balls, while Green scored 32 runs from 24 balls. For LSG, Prince Yadav, Siddharth, Digvijay, and Avesh each took one wicket.
