IPL 2026: LSG Bowled Out for 141 as Ngidi and Natarajan Shine

Lucknow, April 1: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced a tough challenge against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the fifth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. LSG set a target of 142 runs, aiming to kick off their campaign with a win.

Batting first after losing the toss at Ekana Cricket Stadium, LSG was bowled out for just 141 runs in 18.4 overs. The team suffered an early blow when captain Rishabh Pant fell for just 7 runs, leaving them at 19 for 1.

Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram attempted to stabilize the innings, adding 29 runs for the second wicket, bringing the score to 48. However, LSG quickly lost wickets, with five players returning to the pavilion by the time the score reached 71, including Marsh, who scored 35 runs.

Mukul Chaudhary and Abdul Samad then formed a partnership, adding 34 runs for the sixth wicket, which helped the team cross the century mark. Mukul contributed 14 runs before being dismissed. Samad, on the other hand, scored 36 runs off 25 balls and partnered with Shahbaz Ahmed for 33 runs for the seventh wicket, leading LSG to a respectable total.

Shahbaz remained not out with 15 runs. For Delhi Capitals, Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan each took three wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav claimed two and Axar Patel took one.

Under Rishabh Pant’s captaincy, LSG featured players like Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Abdul Samad, Mukul Chaudhary, Mohsin Khan, Mohammad Shami, Anrich Nortje, and Prince Yadav.

In contrast, Delhi Capitals, led by Axar Patel, included KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Pathum Nissanka, Nitish Rana, Tristan Stubbs, David Miller, Vipraj Nigam, Lungi Ngidi, Kuldeep Yadav, T Natarajan, and Mukesh Kumar in their lineup.
