Lucknow, April 1: Delhi Capitals (DC) won the toss on Wednesday and chose to bowl first in their fifth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Both teams are eager to kick off their campaigns with a win.
After winning the toss, DC captain Axar Patel stated, “We want to see if this wicket assists fast bowlers. Statistically, chasing teams tend to win, but this is a new tournament. I believe we should start by bowling first. Last year, we had a good start, but we fell behind midway. We want to begin strong again.”
On the other hand, LSG captain Rishabh Pant remarked, “Not much will change on this wicket, so the toss won’t make a significant difference. It’s a completely new energy, new logo, colors, and mindset. We feel good and are fully prepared to play. Last year, injuries were a concern, but we won’t dwell on that now.
