New Delhi, March 29: The International Film Festival in New Delhi is currently underway, featuring a diverse array of regional cinema from across the country. The festival, which runs until March 31, showcases over 130 films in various languages. Notable attendees include Malayalam film director Dijo Jose Antony, producer Gayatri Guliani, actor Arjan Bajwa, and politician and actress Khushboo Sundar.
At the festival, actress Khushboo Sundar remarked, “I attended the inaugural ceremony, and as I mentioned on the first day, this is a fantastic opportunity for filmmakers and audiences worldwide to understand each other and learn about the types of films being made. With global cinema now within our reach, international audiences are eager to see the films presented by Indian filmmakers. I believe platforms like this are crucial for our cinema.”
Actor Arjan Bajwa expressed gratitude to the Delhi government for organizing such a large-scale event. He stated, “Hosting this festival in Delhi is significant as it establishes the city as a potential hub for media and film production. It is a major step in informing people that Delhi is ready for such initiatives. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Delhi government, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and Tourism and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra for organizing this festival.”
Regarding his upcoming project, Bajwa mentioned, “We are currently working on an international project, but details cannot be disclosed publicly yet. This project is also part of the exhibition, and we are proud of it.”
Film producer Gayatri Guliani discussed the challenges of her upcoming project, stating, “When two countries collaborate, language often poses a significant challenge. Additionally, understanding is required to integrate cultural differences. Initially, the language barrier was the main difficulty, but there were no other significant challenges.”
Malayalam film director Dijo Jose Antony expressed his honor at attending IFFD for the first time in Delhi. He said, “I am delighted to be here and to interact with many people. We just had a session, and it was fantastic. I sincerely thank the Delhi government and the entire team for this.”
Actress Ritabhari Chakraborty added, “I feel great. Delhi has always been a cultural hub. We have some of the best universities and many cultural traditions here, and it is wonderful that films from across the country have come together for this festival. It’s heartening to see excellent films made in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam receiving special recognition in the exhibition.”
