New Delhi, September 2: Virendra Singh, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party (SP), has stated that the decision regarding the SP-Congress alliance for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections will be made by the national presidents and top leadership of both parties. He emphasized that the SP is preparing for all 403 assembly seats.
In a conversation in New Delhi, Singh mentioned that the alliance’s framework will be determined by the national presidents. The top leadership will make the final decisions. Regarding preparations, he noted that the national president has instructed the party to prepare for all 403 seats in Uttar Pradesh. “We are working under their directives for all constituencies,” he said.
Singh criticized the central government regarding GDP growth rates. He questioned why, if the Prime Minister claims growth, the public is not experiencing relief from inflation and why youth are struggling to find jobs. He described the statistics released by the government as mere gimmicks. “Every year, millions of graduates enter the job market, but only 7 to 8 percent manage to secure employment. The BJP government has resorted to outsourcing for job creation, leaving insufficient permanent opportunities for the youth,” he added.
Commenting on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s AI video, Singh stated that the Samajwadi Party is in a ‘tit-for-tat’ stance. “We will respond in kind to the way you choose to confront us,” he asserted.
On the appointment of a new CEO for the Ram Temple Trust, Singh remarked that someone must be held accountable for managing the trust, but he believes this appointment is a distraction from the alleged donation embezzlement issues. “The public’s faith in Lord Ram remains strong, and the allegations of donation theft have hurt many,” he noted.
Referring to a proposed workshop by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Singh mentioned that it was scheduled for August 10. He hoped that the meeting would address issues of alleged corruption in the Jal Jeevan Mission-2, which is being run by the ministry across the country.
He claimed that, based on his experience, the Jal Jeevan Mission under the Ministry of Jal Shakti has completely failed and has allegedly become a monument of corruption. “The government has postponed the program and is preparing to discuss this issue only with ruling party MPs, excluding opposition MPs. The nature of these events suggests an attempt to suppress discussions on alleged corruption in Jal Jeevan Mission-2,” he concluded.
