In a Group A match, the team delivered an impressive performance, defeating Bangladesh by five wickets. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance but acknowledged that fielding remains a significant concern ahead of the crucial match against Australia.
At Old Trafford, Bangladesh batted first, scoring 136 runs while losing eight wickets in their 20 overs. The Indian team successfully chased down the target, reaching 137 runs in just 16.5 overs, losing five wickets. Shafali Verma played a remarkable innings, scoring 53 runs off 34 balls, while Radha Yadav took three wickets in the bowling department.
After the match, Harmanpreet Kaur stated that the team’s goal was to finish the match quickly to improve their net run rate.
