He then added 10 runs in the match against the West Indies. Fans are hopeful for a standout performance from this opener in the upcoming knockout match.
Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan has been in good form, scoring half-centuries against Namibia and Pakistan, and contributing 38 runs in the Super-8 match against Zimbabwe. The nation is counting on him for a significant innings in the next game.
Axar Patel has also made his mark in this World Cup, taking two wickets each against the USA, Namibia, and Pakistan, along with one wicket against Zimbabwe. Fans have high expectations from him, not just with the ball but also with the bat.
Team India advanced to the Super-8 after winning four consecutive group stage matches against the USA, Namibia, Pakistan, and the Netherlands. Following a 76-run defeat to South Africa, India bounced back to defeat Zimbabwe by 72 runs. They secured their place in the semifinals with a 5-wicket win over the West Indies.
On the other hand, England faced a narrow 4-run victory against Nepal but suffered a loss to the West Indies. They rebounded by defeating Scotland and Italy to qualify for the Super-8, where they overcame Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and New Zealand to reach the semifinals.
