San Jose, May 10: Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margerita, inaugurated the ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ wall at the University of Peace in San Jose, Costa Rica, on Sunday.
Sharing images on the social media platform X, Margerita emphasized that ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ meaning ‘the world is one family,’ reflects India’s ancient philosophy. This concept guides India’s relationships globally and promotes a message of brotherhood.
During her visit, the minister also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the university. She noted on X that Bapu belongs not only to India but to all of humanity. His messages of peace and non-violence continue to resonate across the globe.
Additionally, Margerita planted a sapling in Costa Rica as part of the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ initiative. She expressed hope that this sapling, planted in San Jose, would symbolize the enduring friendship between India and Costa Rica, much like Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inspiring initiative. India is committed to fostering a green and sustainable future.
On Saturday, she inaugurated a new office center for the global Indian IT deep tech company, FUGI. Margerita also attended the inauguration ceremony of Costa Rica’s newly elected President, Laura Fernandez, extending her best wishes on behalf of India.
She expressed her happiness at participating in the ceremony and congratulated the Costa Rican government and President on behalf of the President and Prime Minister of India, as well as the Indian people.
India and Costa Rica enjoy strong and friendly relations, further enhanced by trade and cooperation.
Margerita is on an official visit to Costa Rica, Honduras, Belize, and the Commonwealth of Dominica from May 8 to 15.
