Indian Minister Launches New Speed Post Services to Enhance Logistics

New Delhi, March 17: In a significant move to empower India’s logistics ecosystem, Union Minister for Communications and Development of the Northeastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, inaugurated three new advanced services from India Post on Tuesday. These include the 24-Hour Speed Post, 48-Hour Speed Post, and 24-Hour Speed Post Parcel services.

Scindia described this initiative as a crucial milestone for India Post and its millions of customers, symbolizing a renewed commitment to reliability, accountability, and excellent service.

Addressing the event, Scindia stated that today marks an important day for the department. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India Post is strengthening its commitment to every citizen and global customers.

He praised the dedication of postal employees who have been involved in extensive testing and improvements over the past three months, noting that this reflects India Post’s revival and assurance to its customers.

The new 24-Hour Speed Post and 24-Hour Speed Post Parcel services will ensure next-day delivery (D+1) between major cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

These services will feature timely delivery, compensation for delays, real-time tracking, and OTP-based delivery confirmation. Additionally, deliveries will occur on Sundays and holidays (excluding national holidays). Customers will also benefit from a refund policy if deliveries are not made on time.

Initially launched in these six metropolitan areas, the service will gradually expand to Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities. This expansion is expected to significantly benefit e-commerce companies, MSMEs, startups, and business institutions by facilitating faster and more efficient parcel movement.

The 48-Hour Speed Post service will ensure timely and secure delivery of documents within two days (D+2) between these metropolitan areas. It will also offer end-to-end tracking, SMS alerts, and secure delivery confirmation.

The launch of these premium services underscores the postal department’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and a customer-centric approach. Through this initiative, the department aims to strengthen its position in the express delivery segment, providing reliable, secure, and timely delivery solutions in major cities.

This initiative further solidifies India Post’s role as a trusted national logistics partner, continuously working to meet the needs of businesses and citizens across the country.
