
Tashkent, May 14: India showcased an impressive performance at the 2026 Asian Boxing Under-15 Championship, securing a total of 27 medals, including 9 gold, 6 silver, and 12 bronze. This achievement places India at the top of the medal tally for the Under-15 girls’ category.
The Under-15 girls led the charge, winning 7 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals. Meanwhile, the Under-15 boys contributed with 2 gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
In the 33 kg category, Akshita narrowly lost to Odina Yusupova from Uzbekistan by a score of 2:3, settling for a silver medal. In the 37 kg category, Anji triumphed over Nurzhanat Beknazar from Kazakhstan with a decisive 5:0 victory to claim gold. Sonia also excelled in the 40 kg category, winning 5:0 against Bominakhon from Uzbekistan.
In the 43 kg category, Tanvi secured gold with an early win against Han-Hsi Chen from Chinese Taipei via an ABD in the first round. Hansika Atri (46 kg) continued her strong performance, winning against Sabrina Adilkhanova from Kazakhstan through RSC (Referee Stopping Contest) in the second round. Sunaina also achieved victory in the 58 kg category, winning against Mukaddas Jokirova from Uzbekistan via RSC in the first round.
In the 61 kg category, Bhoomika added another gold medal for India, defeating Ayaru Faizullayeva from Kazakhstan through RSC in the second round.
In the 64 kg category, Tanvi had to settle for silver after losing 0:5 to Malika Ulugbekova from Uzbekistan. Angel concluded the girls’ campaign on a high note in the 70 kg category, winning gold against Khonzhodabegim Baratova from Uzbekistan with a score of 4:1.
The Under-15 boys also contributed to India’s medal tally with two gold medals. Yash Kumar won gold in the 33 kg category by defeating Sayat Rakimbardi from Kazakhstan with a close score of 3:2. In the 58 kg category, Mohammad Yasar secured the second gold medal with a narrow 3:2 victory over Abdulloh Karimjonov from Uzbekistan.
In other finals, Sastha Vasant Ashok Kumar (37 kg) had to settle for silver after losing 0:5 to Fayozbek Noraliyev, while Sameer Bohra (43 kg) lost 1:4 to Beibarıs Koishibe from Kazakhstan.
Sudharshan Vasudev Chandak (52 kg) also received a silver medal after losing 0:5 to Jahovhir Nematjonov from Uzbekistan, while Ronak Parag Lokhande (67 kg) claimed silver after losing by RSC in the first round against Amanjan Janay from Kazakhstan.
