Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar Strengthens Ties with UAE President

Abu Dhabi, April 12: Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has arrived in the United Arab Emirates for a two-day visit. On Sunday, he met with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi and conveyed warm wishes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the meeting, Dr. Jaishankar expressed gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed for ensuring the welfare of the Indian community in the UAE amid conflicts in West Asia. Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was also present at the meeting.

In a post on X, Dr. Jaishankar stated, “I feel honored to meet UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. I extend heartfelt wishes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thank him for his guidance in ensuring the welfare of the Indian community during the West Asia conflict. We aim to further strengthen the India-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership.”

In another post, he mentioned, “It was a pleasure to meet Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. I appreciated our government’s efforts to ensure the welfare of the Indian community in Dubai.”

Dr. Jaishankar’s official visit includes discussions with UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan about the changing dynamics in West Asia and its broader implications.

He expressed confidence that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations will continue to grow. He wrote on X, “I was very happy to meet UAE’s DPM and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi today. Our discussions focused on the changing regional dynamics and their impact. We deeply appreciated their commitment to ensuring the welfare of the Indian community in the UAE. We are confident that our comprehensive strategic partnership will advance.”

On Saturday, Dr. Jaishankar also engaged with members of the Indian community. Following the meetings, he posted, “I began my UAE visit by interacting with the Indian community. We discussed the Government of India’s efforts to ensure their welfare and security amid ongoing conflicts in West Asia. I appreciated their contributions to the local society during these challenging times, as well as the support of the UAE government in ensuring the welfare of the Indian community.”

Prior to his visit to the UAE, Dr. Jaishankar was in Mauritius, where he participated in the 9th Indian Ocean Conference and met with the country’s leadership.
