Indian Embassy Organizes Blood Donation Camp in Riyadh, Community Responds Enthusiastically

Riyadh, June 13: The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia hosted a blood donation camp in collaboration with the Central Blood Bank in Riyadh on Saturday.

Counselor Sharik Badr inaugurated the camp, which was organized in partnership with the Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), as announced on the embassy’s social media platform, X.

According to the Indian Embassy, a large turnout from the Indian community made this initiative a success. The embassy expressed gratitude to all donors and volunteers, stating, “The Indian Embassy consistently encourages and supports meaningful social and humanitarian initiatives led by community organizations.”

The Ministry of External Affairs reports that the Indian community in Saudi Arabia numbers approximately 2.74 million, serving as a vital link between the two nations. The contribution of this community to Saudi Arabia’s development is significant.

On Friday, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait also organized a blood donation camp at the Aden Hospital and Blood Bank. The embassy announced on X that this camp was held in collaboration with Blood Donors Kerala (BDK) and the Federation of Indian Doctors (FID) in honor of World Blood Donor Day.

The camp was inaugurated by Indian Ambassador Parmita Tripathi and Sheikh Hamoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Governor of Al Ahmadi Governorate, who set an example by being the first donor.

The embassy thanked the Indian community, donors, and volunteers for their overwhelming response, which reinforced the spirit of compassion, service, and Indian-Kuwait friendship.

Ambassador Tripathi remarked that the enthusiasm for blood donation within the Indian community is inspiring. She stated, “Today is very special. We are holding another blood donation camp in Kuwait. This is not the first time, and it certainly won’t be the last.”
