New Delhi, March 13: After leading the Indian team to victory in the T20 World Cup 2026, captain Surya Kumar Yadav expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans across the nation. He dedicated the championship to supporters who stood by the team throughout the tournament.
In an emotional message, Yadav thanked fans for their unwavering support, emphasizing that the team’s success would not have been possible without their prayers and encouragement.
In a video released by the BCCI on Friday, Surya Kumar stated, “Dear Team India fans, first of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We owe our success to your support and blessings. This World Cup trophy belongs to all of India.”
The captain highlighted that this victory was not just a personal achievement for the team, but a shared dream for cricket lovers across the country. “When we win, it’s not just our victory. It’s the dream of those children who grow up with a bat and ball, aspiring to play for their nation. It’s for the fans who fill the stadiums and make us feel at home. It’s for the millions who support us from their homes,” he said.
Surya Kumar added, “Your prayers and unconditional love give us strength. Words are not enough to thank you all. Cricket in India is not just a sport; it’s an emotion. This victory is for all of you.”
India clinched the title on March 8, defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With this win, India became the first team to secure three T20 World Cup titles, winning back-to-back championships and achieving the feat on home soil.
