Indian Bowler Aakash Deep Confident of T20 World Cup Victory Ahead of Final

Mumbai, March 6: Team India has secured its place in the final of the T20 World Cup 2026. On Thursday, at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the Indian team triumphed over England by 7 runs in the second semifinal match. Fast bowler Aakash Deep believes that under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, Team India looks very strong. He expressed confidence that India will defeat New Zealand in the final and become champions for the second consecutive time.

In an interview with a news agency, Aakash Deep stated, “The way Team India performed in the semifinal deserves congratulations from the entire nation. All of India and 1.4 billion people are happy. Suryakumar has been leading the team for a long time. I believe that India is a very strong team, and we have a high chance of becoming champions. In my opinion, we will succeed in winning the T20 World Cup.”

The Indian team showcased an impressive performance against England at Wankhede Stadium. After losing the toss and batting first, India scored 253 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. This score is the highest in the knockout stage of the T20 World Cup. Sanju Samson played a remarkable innings, scoring 89 runs off 42 balls, hitting 8 fours and 7 sixes. Meanwhile, Shivam Dube contributed with a solid 43 runs off 25 balls.

Chasing a target of 254 runs, England managed to score only 246 runs, losing 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Jacob Bethel played a stunning innings, scoring 105 runs off 48 balls, but he lacked support from the other batsmen. Bethel also became the fastest century-maker for England in T20 World Cup history. This marks India’s fourth appearance in the finals and their second consecutive time. The final match between India and New Zealand will take place on March 8 at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
