Indian Army Showcases Skills in Uzbekistan Military Exercise

New Delhi, April 20: Indian Army soldiers are demonstrating their skills in Uzbekistan by firing with both hands. These troops are executing critical missions, including rapid gunfire, rocket attacks, unarmed combat, and bayonet fighting.

This operation is part of a significant military exercise conducted alongside the Uzbekistan Army. The forces from both nations are utilizing unmanned systems in the battlefield, practicing ‘fire and move’ tactics in urban areas, and conducting safe evacuations of injured soldiers. Additionally, they are engaging in reconnaissance, surveillance, and operations against terrorist hideouts, as well as mountain climbing, rappelling, sniper training, and navigation exercises.

The joint military exercise between Uzbekistan and India will continue until April 25. This is the seventh edition of the “Dustlik 2026” exercise, aimed at enhancing coordination, tactical efficiency, and joint operational capabilities between the two armies. According to military officials, the primary objective of this exercise is to improve joint operational capacity in semi-hilly terrains.

Both nations’ forces are collaboratively developing strategies against adversaries. Tactical drills are being conducted, focusing on the use of specialized military weapons and strategies to combat illegal armed groups. So far, the troops have exchanged information about the terrain, operational methodologies, and various combat skills. The ‘Dustlik’ exercise includes military operations to respond to terrorist actions, raids, searches, and the destruction of terrorist bases.

The joint military exercise Dustlik 2026 represents a significant initiative to strengthen defense relations between India and Uzbekistan. The exercise focuses on developing joint planning and operational capabilities, providing soldiers with training in complex tasks such as search operations, sieges, raids, and the safe extraction of hostages. Modern combat technologies, including drones and surveillance systems, are also being integrated into the training.

During Dustlik 2026, the armies are sharing their experiences and strategies, which will not only enhance their combat efficiency but also strengthen mutual understanding and coordination. Additionally, activities such as running, exercising, yoga, and confidence-building exercises have been organized to bolster the physical capabilities and team spirit of the soldiers. In the coming days, the exercise will enter a more complex phase, involving joint missions in semi-hilly areas.
