Benoni: India’s Under-19 cricket team achieved a commanding 233-run victory against South Africa Under-19 in the third match of the Youth One Day International (ODI) series. With this win, India secured a clean 3-0 series sweep.
The match, played on Wednesday at Willowmoore Park, saw India bat first after losing the toss. The team posted a formidable total of 393 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
The opening partnership between Aaron George and Vaibhav Suryavanshi provided a strong foundation, putting on 227 runs in 25.4 overs. Captain Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a brilliant 127 runs off 74 balls, including 10 sixes and 9 fours before being dismissed.
Aaron George continued his fine form by adding 52 runs with Vedant Trivedi for the second wicket in 55 balls. George scored 118 runs off 106 balls, hitting 16 fours. Vedant Trivedi contributed 34 runs, while Mohammed Anan remained unbeaten with 28 runs.
From the South African bowling side, Sony was the most successful with 3 wickets, followed by Jason Rolls with 2 wickets and Michael Kruiskamp with 1 wicket.
