India Strengthens Ties at Portugals Independence Day Celebration

New Delhi, April 17: Indian Foreign Ministry Secretary (West) Siby George represented India at the celebration of Portugal’s Independence Day and the 50th anniversary of the Portuguese Constitution. During the event, he reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening the historical partnership with Portugal and enhancing cooperation across various sectors.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Indian Foreign Ministry Secretary (West) Siby George represented India at Portugal’s ‘Independence Day’ celebration and the 50th anniversary of the Portuguese Constitution. He reiterated his commitment to the long-standing partnership between India and Portugal and expressed a resolve to further strengthen cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.”

Earlier, Ambassador Sergio Gore launched a campaign named ‘Freedom 250’ on the streets of Delhi in preparation for the 250th anniversary of American independence, which will be celebrated in July. The campaign has been visible throughout the streets of Delhi, as the U.S. Embassy in India highlighted this unique initiative on social media.

The campaign features posters and banners adorned with images of U.S. President Donald Trump and other significant American symbols, displayed on various auto rickshaws.

The embassy posted a video of Ambassador Gore’s informal address, stating that the celebration of freedom is ongoing. He officially kicked off the Freedom 250 festivities in a special way by unveiling impressive vehicles that will travel throughout the city.

The initiative marks the beginning of an exciting journey across India as the country prepares to celebrate America’s 250th Independence Day in style. If you spot them, they will soon be visible all over Delhi. The Freedom 250 campaign will continue its journey across India.
