Beijing, April 17: The 15th China International Garden Expo has officially commenced in Wenzhou, located in the southeastern province of Zhejiang. This year’s theme, “Poetic Mountains and Seas, Sharing Green Life,” emphasizes the event’s commitment to promoting extensive green transformation and accelerating modern urban development.
According to reports, the China International Garden Expo is the country’s premier international event in landscaping and greenery, first launched in 1997. Over the years, it has evolved beyond a simple flower and gardening exhibition to become a comprehensive platform that integrates ecological restoration, urban renewal, and cultural heritage.
Officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development noted that this year’s expo is focused on promoting urban renewal and the construction of garden expo parks through the use of green and low-carbon technologies.
During the expo, over 600 events will be held, providing attendees with the opportunity to experience a green and beautiful lifestyle. Since the experimental operations began on February 14, more than 2.18 million visitors have already visited the main venue, the Wenzhou Garden Expo Park.
At the opening ceremony, the “Wenzhou Declaration on Building People-Centric Cities and Sharing Green Life” was also released. This declaration calls for serving people from cities across the nation, protecting the environment, creating a beautiful life together, and advancing the development of modern, innovative, livable, resilient, and smart cities.
