New Delhi: The Department of Posts (DoP), under the Ministry of Communications, signed a landmark agreement with Stock Holding Services Limited (SSL) at the New Delhi Post Office building on Tuesday. This partnership aims to expand access to regulated capital market services for citizens across India.
The collaboration intends to leverage India Post’s extensive reach and trusted presence to encourage greater participation in organised capital markets. Under this agreement, citizens will be able to access SSL’s services through official platforms and selected post office branches via digital onboarding links and QR codes.
Services offered include opening Demat and trading accounts, investing in mutual funds, subscribing to initial public offerings (IPOs), and accessing other investment products. This initiative is designed to make investing easier and more accessible through the trusted network of India Post.
The Ministry of Communications emphasised that a key focus of this partnership is financial awareness and investor education. SSL, in collaboration with the Department of Posts, will conduct financial literacy and investor education programmes to promote informed participation in financial markets.
Vandita Kaul, Secretary of the Department of Posts, highlighted that this cooperation reflects a shared commitment to financial inclusion and aligns with the vision of a developed India by 2047. She noted that this initiative will utilise India Post’s vast network and recent digital advancements to facilitate wider and secure participation in capital markets.
Prabhat Kumar Dubey, Managing Director and CEO of SSL, expressed his pleasure at partnering with the DoP. He stated that SSL remains dedicated to expanding transparent and regulated capital market services nationwide and enhancing investor awareness.
