
New Delhi, June 23: Israeli State Comptroller and Ombudsman, Matanyahu Engelman, has arrived in India for an official visit. During this visit, he held a bilateral meeting with India’s Comptroller and Auditor General, K. Sanjay Moorthy.
The meeting included key officials from both sides, such as K.S. Subramaniam, Deputy Controller and Auditor General (HR, IR, Legal, and Coordination), B.K. Mohanty, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Vimalendra Patwardhan, Director General (International Relations). Also present were Reuven Azar, the Israeli Ambassador to India, and Miri Weiss, head of the International Department at the Israeli State Comptroller’s Office.
The discussions concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing collaboration in public sector auditing, capacity building, technology adoption, knowledge exchange, and sharing best practices.
The Israeli Embassy in India welcomed the signing on social media platform X, stating, “We are pleased to announce the agreement between the Israeli State Comptroller’s Office and the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.”
During his visit to New Delhi, Engelman emphasized the importance of cooperation in public sector auditing, capacity building, technology, and institutional learning with K. Sanjay Moorthy. This significant milestone reflects the growing partnership between Israel and India.
In addition, India’s Defence Secretary, Rajesh Kumar Singh, met with Major General (Retired) Amir Baram, Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defence, on June 22. Their discussions focused on strengthening India-Israel defence cooperation through co-development, co-production, and collaboration in next-generation military technologies and advanced defence capabilities.
The Defence Ministry reported that Major General (Retired) Amir Baram also met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on June 22 in New Delhi. Their conversation centered on enhancing India-Israel defence cooperation, reaffirming Israel’s commitment to strengthening collaboration under the special strategic partnership with India.
