Important Astrological Insights for October 20, 2026: Abhijit Muhurat and Travel Precautions

Discover astrological insights for October 20, 2026, including auspicious timings and travel advice based on the Hindu Panchang.

New Delhi, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : Hinduism places great importance on the Panchang, a calendar that guides auspicious activities such as travel, investments, and rituals. The Panchang is based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other celestial bodies.

On October 20, 2026, the Navami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin will commence at 10:52 AM and last until 12:50 AM the following day. The day will begin with sunrise at 6:29 AM and conclude with sunset at 5:53 PM. Additionally, the moon will rise at 2:16 PM and set at 1:39 AM.

Astrologically, the Sun will be positioned in the Chitra Nakshatra on this day. This alignment is believed to bring significant and profound effects. The ruling planet of Chitra Nakshatra is Mars, considered a friend of the Sun. This combination enhances an individual’s confidence, courage, and energy. Employees may receive recognition from higher-ups, while those in administration or management could gain new responsibilities or promotions.

The Shool Yoga will persist until 12:49 AM, which is regarded as inauspicious. The term ‘Shool’ refers to a thorn or a sharp weapon, symbolizing pain or discomfort. This yoga is the ninth among the 27 Nitya Yogas and is associated with the serpent deity. Individuals born under this yoga may exhibit traits of aggression, bluntness, and a tendency to quarrel.

The Abhijit Muhurat, considered the most auspicious time of the day, will occur from 11:48 AM to 12:34 PM. This period, lasting approximately 48 minutes, is believed to negate any negative influences when tasks are performed during this time.

From 6:34 AM to 8:20 AM, the Amritkal will be in effect. This period is viewed as extremely favorable, filled with positive energy. Activities initiated during Amritkal are likely to be successful, making it an ideal time for new ventures, investments, and significant travel.

However, the Rahukal, which is deemed inauspicious for starting new ventures, will take place from 3:02 PM to 4:28 PM. This time is calculated by dividing the daylight hours into eight equal parts, typically resulting in a 90-minute window. It is advisable not to commence any new endeavors during this period, although ongoing tasks can continue.

Yamgand Kal will occur from 9:20 AM to 10:46 AM, a time associated with the deity of death, Yama. This period may pose challenges related to health and longevity, making it unfavorable for initiating new projects or financial transactions.

The Gulik Kal, another inauspicious time, will run from 12:11 PM to 1:37 PM. This time is often referred to as ‘poisonous’ and is believed to yield negative outcomes for new endeavors. However, ongoing activities can proceed, and repetitive tasks may be performed during this period.

On this day, the Sun will be in Libra, a position that is considered weak, potentially affecting confidence and decision-making abilities. The presence of Mercury and Venus alongside the Sun creates a Trigrahi Yoga, which can have mixed impacts on certain zodiac signs and financial matters.

The Moon will transit through Capricorn, a sign ruled by Saturn, which emphasizes discipline and hard work. Individuals influenced by this position may exhibit dedication and responsibility in their tasks.

Traveling to the north is advised against, as it is considered inauspicious on this day according to astrological and Vastu principles.
