Importance of Certified Trainers in Gyms Highlighted by Maulana Kasmi

Ghaziabad, June 12: Following the recent incident of gym-related jihad and conversion in Shamli, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued strict directives regarding the verification of gym trainers and operators. Maulana Mufti Mohammad Sajid Kasmi welcomed this decision.

He emphasized the need for certified professionals with proper identification to ensure public safety. The measures taken after the Shamli incident are seen as a positive step.

Maulana Kasmi stated, “Any individual involved in a profession should have a clear identity. Their registration must be verified, and identification documents like an Aadhaar card should be checked. It is also essential to assess their qualifications for the job.”

He further explained that if a doctor possesses a degree and has opened a clinic, it is commendable. However, without the necessary qualifications, they should not be allowed to practice medicine. All religions, including Islam, emphasize the importance of knowledge and qualifications. This is why it is said, ‘A half-knowledgeable doctor is a danger to life.’

The same principle applies to gyms. Health is a critical aspect of gym training. If a trainer presents their credentials and has verified documents, confirming their capability to operate or provide training at a gym, it is indeed a positive development.

He added, “Previously, there was no such system in place. However, if this step is being taken now, it is better late than never. This initiative should be welcomed.”
