New Delhi, August 12: The ongoing monsoon session of Parliament is facing severe disruptions due to continuous deadlock. The opposition is demanding answers from Home Minister Amit Shah regarding issues such as paper leaks, police actions during student protests in Delhi, and the Ram Mandir donation controversy. In this context, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari stated that the Home Minister should come to the House and respond according to the Constitution.
Pramod Tiwari expressed, “I support Mallikarjun Kharge’s statement. The Home Minister must come to the House and provide answers as per the Constitution. He should explain how force was used, how protesters were beaten with spiked batons, and how deadly pellets were fired. He must also address the alleged misconduct and inappropriate behavior of police officers towards girls and young women. If he remains silent on these matters, it would mean he is disrespecting the House.”
In response to former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s allegations of political opportunism against Rahul Gandhi, Tiwari remarked, “Dharmendra Pradhan has lost his place in the Cabinet and has been caught red-handed. His reputation has never been lower across the country. What can someone like him say about Rahul Gandhi? Rahul Gandhi has raised the voice of students and highlighted their concerns. It was Dharmendra Pradhan’s responsibility as Education Minister to address those concerns. If he has resigned today, it is primarily due to Rahul Gandhi raising these issues in Parliament. Such a person has no moral right to comment on Rahul Gandhi.”
Regarding the use of a mobile phone by former MP Prajwal Revanna while in jail, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari stated, “His father has been a minister, and his grandfather was the Prime Minister of the country. He considers himself above the law. The way he has treated women deserves utmost condemnation. Now that he is in jail, he is still violating the law. Strict action should definitely be taken against him.”
Additionally, concerning the drug test of an Air India pilot, Tiwari commented, “This reflects the functioning of the government and the Ministry of Civil Aviation. When a person buys a ticket and boards a flight, the airline guarantees their safety and comfort. But what is happening here? A pilot is flying a passenger aircraft under the influence. I believe the government is responsible for this and must answer in Parliament.”
