New Delhi, August 12: Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav has voiced strong criticism against the BJP government on various issues, including the theft of donations at the Ram Temple, a security incident on an Air India flight, law and order in Uttar Pradesh, and the FCRA bill. He emphasized that the donation issue related to the Ram Temple has transcended being merely a national concern, now deeply intertwined with the faith of millions.
During a press interaction, Yadav stated that while 95-98% of the demands from students in Jharkhand have been met, the BJP is deliberately prolonging the strike. He accused the BJP of intentionally deteriorating the situation in Jharkhand.
Yadav further alleged that a significant number of overseas Indians have contributed generously to the Ram Temple. He insisted that investigations must reach the actual culprits, as only a handful of minor individuals have been arrested so far. He vowed that protests would continue until the alleged main offenders are apprehended.
Regarding the severe turbulence incident on an Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi, Yadav labeled it a serious matter. He also expressed concern over the alleged drug test of the pilot, claiming that the pilot was under the influence of marijuana and was not in his seat during the incident. He noted that it was a stroke of luck that all 137 passengers and eight crew members emerged unharmed.
On the issue of extortion, Yadav acknowledged it as a grave problem but criticized the Uttar Pradesh government for lacking an effective system to address it. He accused the state government of fostering lawlessness, citing allegations of fake encounters where individuals are shot in the legs, leaving them permanently disabled. He referenced the controversial killing of Atiq Ahmed, suggesting that regardless of public opinion about Ahmed, the manner of his death raises legitimate questions.
Concerning the FCRA bill, Yadav argued that its introduction was unnecessary. He claimed that missionaries and NGOs have made significant contributions to education and other services in tribal areas like Jharkhand and Gujarat’s Dangs. He warned that imposing restrictions on such organizations could adversely affect the education and welfare of children from impoverished families.
