Ranchi, August 23: BJP leader Pratul Shahdev has targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav.
In a conversation regarding the student protests, Shahdev stated, “The Hemant Soren government’s strategy regarding the student movement has completely backfired. Instead of addressing the students’ concerns, the government attempted to suppress the protests. The protest site has turned into a battlefield, with allegations of police baton charges against students. JMM workers also attacked the students while the police remained mere spectators. Additionally, there are accusations of harassment against women linked to JMM leadership.”
Commenting on Akhilesh Yadav, Shahdev remarked, “Only two words come to mind for Akhilesh; he can say anything, absolutely anything. His party workers are fortunate that his family is not so large, or else there would be 37-38 adult members forming a joint family. Otherwise, all the MPs from your party would be family members, as you only trust your family. You admit that your party hasn’t fractured because five MPs belong to your family.”
Regarding Rahul Gandhi, Shahdev expressed, “When I think of Rahul Gandhi, one thing comes to mind: ‘Incomplete information is dangerous.’ He deliberately tries to mislead students due to his ignorance.” He added that Gandhi has made incorrect statements regarding Manusmriti, which states that where women are honored, there resides divinity.
Shahdev criticized Gandhi for advocating women’s rights but retreating when it comes to women’s reservation, noting that his party votes against it. “These are anti-women individuals. Rahul Gandhi fails to see the plight of students in Jharkhand. Students were beaten after the electricity was cut off in Jharkhand.”
