Ranchi, 19 August (Kiran News). Heavy rainfall is expected in parts of various districts in Jharkhand till 24 August, according to information given by the Meteorological Department on Tuesday.

As per the department, heavy rain is likely in northeastern districts and adjoining central areas on 21 August. On 22 August, some areas in northeastern and southeastern districts may experience heavy rainfall. In these districts, there is also a possibility of thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour.
On 23 August, heavy rainfall may occur in northeastern districts, while on 24 August, some parts of southern and eastern districts may receive heavy rain. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for these areas.
In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall in the state was recorded at Rajmahal in Sahibganj district, where 63.2 millimetres of rain was measured. During this period, Ranchi also recorded 8.7 millimetres of rainfall.
On Tuesday, Ranchi and surrounding areas saw light rain from early morning, which continued intermittently till the afternoon, resulting in a cool atmosphere.
The maximum temperature recorded in Ranchi was 30.3°C, in Jamshedpur 33.2°C, in Daltonganj 34.6°C, in Bokaro 32.5°C, and in Chaibasa 33°C.
