Ambala, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : Haryana’s Minister Anil Vij has fiercely responded to the opposition’s demand for the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, framing the India alliance’s actions as desperate. He likened their protests to a failing student blaming external factors for their lack of success. “If the voter lists are indeed fraudulent, why are your MPs and MLAs clinging to their positions based on those same lists?” he questioned.
Vij accused the Congress party of attempting to tarnish the reputation of autonomous institutions, labeling Rahul Gandhi’s mindset as a threat to democracy. He stated, “It’s like a child who fails in school and comes home crying about a bad teacher or school. But when they succeed, they don’t make such excuses. They haven’t done this in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, or Kerala. Now they are parading everywhere, claiming the electoral rolls are incorrect.”
He further challenged the opposition, suggesting that if their claims about the electoral rolls were valid, all elected representatives should resign immediately, as they would be acknowledging the flaws in the same rolls they benefited from.
Vij asserted that Congress is waging a campaign against all autonomous institutions in the country. He pointed out their criticisms of the judiciary, the Enforcement Directorate, and the Election Commission, attributing this to Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. “His bloodline carries a dictatorial legacy from his grandmother. He aims to dismantle democracy and impose dictatorship, which is why there is constant opposition to autonomous institutions,” Vij remarked.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the BJP president in Kerala, also weighed in, questioning the opposition’s motives. “What exactly are you protesting against? Is it that the Election Commission exposed Rahul Gandhi’s lies? Or that everyone acknowledges him as fraudulent? The India alliance is fracturing, with parties like DMK distancing themselves. Rahul himself wants to send P. Vijayan to jail; what is the basis of this protest?” he asked.
Chandrasekhar expressed that the situation is not only shocking but also disgraceful, highlighting the BJP and central government’s support for the VD Satheesan government in Kerala amid its financial crisis.
