Harmanpreet Kaur Relishes Pressure-Free Cricket After Stellar Performance Against Zimbabwe
After scoring 91 not out against Zimbabwe, Harmanpreet Kaur expresses her desire to enjoy cricket without pressure.

Raipur, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : Former captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, Harmanpreet Kaur, expressed her desire to enjoy cricket without pressure after her outstanding performance against Zimbabwe. Following her unbeaten 91 runs off 41 balls, she shared her thoughts during the post-match presentation on October 21 in Raipur.
“I don’t feel any pressure now. It’s all about enjoying my time on the field, and that’s what I want to do. I’m just happy to score runs,” Harmanpreet stated.
She noted that after hitting her first boundary, she felt the pitch was favorable and the ball was coming onto the bat nicely. “I thought I just needed to keep playing and see how it goes,” she added.
Harmanpreet credited her comfort at the crease to the hard work she put in during practice sessions. “The effort in the nets has helped me feel more at ease during games without any added pressure,” she explained.
The former captain praised batting coach Himanshu for his guidance. “He has been working hard on my batting. He knows what I am capable of. Every time we meet, he wants me to feel the same pressure in the nets so that I don’t feel extra pressure during matches. I think his strategy and ideas work very well,” she said.
In the match, India batted first after winning the toss, scoring 216 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Shefali Verma contributed significantly with 69 runs, while Harmanpreet’s explosive innings included five sixes and ten fours.
Zimbabwe managed to score only 124 runs in their 20 overs, resulting in a 92-run defeat. Harmanpreet was named Player of the Match, and India clinched the three-match series 3-0, with Shefali recognized as Player of the Series.
